Ray Robinson is self-motivated Application Developer with over fourteen years of experience in IT ranging from Technical Support to guiding projects through the software design and development lifecycle. Past projects have focused on system and solution design and development of desktop and Web based enterprise applications including development of custom APIs.
Building on earlier exposure to programming at the hardware level, Ray began independently studying various programming languages including Visual Basic, C/C++, JAVA, Web Technologies and later on, Microsoft’s C# .NET. Ray achieved several Microsoft Certifications at this time and obtained the full Microsoft Certified Solution Developer designation in the same week he began his first official programming job at Scholars.Com. The company would later be renamed to SmartForce, then SkillSoft.
During his time at SkillSoft Ray’s focus was on creating multi-tier Web based applications as well as desktop applications and utilities for extension of, or integrating with, a core Learning Management System. Ray worked both unsupervised and in teams, in supporting and lead roles. During the evolution of the company Ray’s ability to adapt and learn new technologies was forefront as the development technologies often changed, including Microsoft ASP, ColdFusion, Java, MS SQL and Oracle and third party frameworks. Occasional side projects also included Visual Basic, C++ and various reporting tools.
Moving from SkillSoft in 2007, Ray accepted the role of Senior Programmer/Analyst at River Valley Health which would later become part of FacilicorpNB. Although the development stack was primarily focused on Microsoft products, Ray’s adaptability would again be exercised through the maintenance and support of many custom and legacy software systems. Projects often involved integration with, or expansion of legacy applications for both Clinical and Business use and required proprietary skill sets such as Meditech NPR report writing.
Since 2015 Ray has been a member of the team responsible for the successfuly development and maintenance of the New Brunswick Cancer Networks Cancer Screening Integrated Information System.
