Ms. Ganong has been involved in the Information Technology and Consulting profession for 21 years. Currently, she is a founding partner and associate of ROC Inc., an organization of seasoned career professionals and senior business executives with proven track records of providing excellence to their clients within their respective fields.
Prior to forming ROC Inc, Lorna held various positions at CGI. She successfully led a strategic line of business, the Single Window Government practice for CGI. Her experience ranges from project management and programme management to business process improvement, quality and change management.
Lorna was Director, Consulting Services with CGI and for five years, served as Director of the global Project Co-ordination Office for the Single Window Government practice, guiding the evolution of this strategic offering and overseeing engagements of this nature, overseeing teams of 6 to 48 working in Canada, U.S. and UK. During the same time, she continued to provide management consulting services to clients, primarily in the local Atlantic Canadian market.
In 1998, she assumed additional responsibilities for a two-year term as the Quality System Coordinator for the Fredericton office; responsible for maintaining the Quality System, which is ISO 9001 certified. Her leadership of the Quality System in Fredericton resulted in the 1999 K.C. Irving Quality Award in the Selected Services category. This prestigious award is presented to organizations that demonstrate a commitment to Total Quality and continuous improvement.
She was also involved in several remote development projects, spanning Canada and the U.K. Her special area of expertise throughout the second half of the 1990s was project management.
Lorna began her career at A.C. Neilsen Company of Canada in Saint John, New Brunswick. In 1987, she joined the Systems & Technology Group of the Department of Supply & Services. Responsibilities included support and maintenance; analysis and design of major enhancements and leading teams in implementation initiatives to the Medicare application and later, preparation of opportunity evaluations and project proposals for various client departments, design of Graphical User Interface (GUI), client-server systems using a variety of new (at the time) technologies and tools
